As I am slowly passing the half way point of receiving my associates degree I sat wondering how much longer my boyfriend and I can keep living under my parent’s roof. They love having us around but we realized that we need a game plan. So here we are calling relators and looking for land.

Personally Zack(my boyfriend)  and I are extremely particular on what we want and that led us to the realization that building a home was the best option for us. The plan as of today is to purchase our land now and start clearing it on our own within the next year while I am still in school. By this time next year I will be out of school and we hope to have saved up enough money down to start building our forever home.

At the moment we are looking for at least five acres because we already own ducks and we are planning on buying goats and donkeys, so needless to say we will need space! Also we would like to not be right on top of your neighbors, we are not ones for the suburbs feel. We found a few plots of land right down the road from where we are living now, we are just hoping we can talk them down on the price a bit.

We know there are so many things we do not know and so much that needs to be done but we are so lucky to have such an awesome support group to help us along the way. The plan is to keep you guys updated and bring you along for the ride with all of the ups and downs in hopes that it may help another couple going through the same thing. As of now, next week Zack and I will be going to tour some plots and hopefully come to a decision!
